October 18, 2017 Breakfast: Mentoring or Coaching: Which is better for me?
Whether you’re a young professional or a seasoned one, chances are you’ve found yourself seeking out support or guidance at some point in your career. Perhaps you’ve turned to friends or family, or sought input from colleagues; but when that’s not enough, or not even an option, then outside sources, such as a Mentor or Executive Coach, may help launch you over whatever hurdle you’re facing.
Mentoring and Executive Coaching are both important elements in career and leadership development but they approach that development in different ways. Are you looking for someone to bounce ideas off of, or to learn from someone else’s experiences? Do you want to discover how to evolve or advance your own career potential?
If you’re not sure which is right for you, or even what the fundamental differences are between the two, then this is a must-attend session. You’ll hear from a panel comprised of a Mentor, Mentee, Executive Coach and Coachee, on the give and take each of these relationships requires.
Participants in this session will come away with:
- A clear understanding of the key differences between mentoring and executive coaching
- How mentors and executive coaches approach their roles and the outcomes they hope will be achieved through the relationship
- First-hand accounts of how the decision was made to seek out mentoring or executive coaching and the benefits derived from the relationship
