The Symposium for Chief Staff & Chief Elected Officers

Two Leaders. One Vision.

Forging a Solid, Strategic Partnership between Chief Staff and Elected Officials

The relationship between an association's CEO and Board Chair has a significant impact upon your organization’s governance performance and the way your organization is perceived by members and stakeholders. CSAE’s highly acclaimed Symposium for Chief and Chief Elected Officers (CEO Symposium) is specifically designed to ensure role clarity and the most effective and productive relationship possible between you and your Chair or incoming Chair. This event will help both leaders forge a strong working partnership and mutual trust which will have a measurable effect on the near and long-term success of your association.

Leadership experts, Glenn Tecker
and Leigh Wintz, CAE, both of Tecker Consultants LLC, have created a powerful, updated program to help CEO’s and their Board Chairs achieve a clear understanding of their unique roles and responsibilities as well as their shared objectives. When you and your current or incoming Chair attend the CEO Symposium, you will gain a common understanding and commitment to the key components of successful governance, strategy and organization.

The CEO Symposium will help your organization’s Chief Staff and Chief Elected Officer work as a team to:

  • Enhance your organization’s governance process by establishing role clarity
  • Establish a joint understanding of your organization’s annual priorities
  • Gain a consistent perspective of your organization’s current and anticipated challenges
  • Make knowledge-based decisions and determine effective avenues of communication
  • Foster an open relationship based upon shared values and trust

The necessary foundation on which to build a strong relationship and instill a culture of mutual trust

“This was my first Symposium. This event allowed me to spend necessary time with our CSO that I likely wouldn't have been able and allowed us to ‘tune up’ how we can most effectively work together over the next few years. Excellent and highly recommended.”
Jerome Ferber, SCMP, Board Chair, Supply Chain Management Association
