CSAE BC Roundtable - Conflict Resolution

Workplace conflict comes with a heavy price, both emotional and financial. The longer it continues, the greater the impact to all concerned -employees, teams and organizations.  Imagine also the loss of creative ideas, quality decision making and productive teamwork if conflict causes employees to leave.

Conflict, if left unchecked, may also draw the attention of customers and clients who, in turn, may choose to take their business elsewhere.

You can limit the damage by resolving conflict as quickly as possible...but preventing it in the first place is far less costly.

As an employer, manager or team player, how can you help prevent conflict among colleagues or employees becoming damaging?

Join us in a roundtable discussion with conflict resolution advisor and HR expert Cori Maedel from the Jouta Performance Group Inc. where we will discuss:

Conflict awareness skills

Tried and tested techniques to deal with conflict (that translate beyond just the work environment)

Effective strategies to prevent conflict occurring in the first place.

Cori has over 25 years of human resources experience, backed by solid credentials and a lot of practical know-how. She has worked directly with over 50 clients across many industries including aviation, construction, gaming, manufacturing, not-for-profit and hospitality, to name just a few. She is also a contributor to the Globe and Mail, Business in Vancouver and the HR Reporter, and has appeared on Breakfast Television.

She currently runs the Jouta Performance Group, offering practical and realistic HR tools that help businesses become more effective and productive, and helps develop the infrastructure needed to attract and retain quality employees.
