Jane Garthson has been providing Interim Executive and other leadership services to associations and charities since 1992. She consults, presents and writes extensively on the latest practical thinking in governance, visioning, strategic planning, decision-making and ethical values. Jane holds an honours certificate in Voluntary Sector Leadership from York University, and is an author of governance chapters in two peer-reviewed international books, You and Your Nonprofit Board and You and Your Nonprofit. Jane is currently Secretary of the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust and a volunteer with Volunteer Toronto’s On Becoming a Board Member sessions. Past roles include Commissioner of a provincial regulatory agency, Interim Executive Director of a charity and earlier at a sports federation, co-founder and chair of a national professional association, and Treasurer of a national charity. She has been active in CSAE since 1998, has written articles for Association Magazine, and has presented on governance at CSAE events.
